Ya know what else it’s “tis the season” for? Our old fashioned “Swedish Glögg”; a hot mulled sweet Port wine fortified with 151 proof rum and spiced with a mixture of star anise, cinnamon, allspice, clove, cardamom, fresh ginger with some raisins and an orange too! Served as $5 “hot shots” or in 6 oz. $15 mugs with cinnamon stick; one of these per customer please as this stuff is dang near flammably potent… 😉

A decent lookin’ Saturday we got us here today, cloudy this morning with the sun peeking through soon enough. Cooling off just a bit from yesterday, we’ll see a high of 63 degrees with a cold front moving in later tonight droppin’ that thermometer down to 44. Chilly tomorrow, 44 remains the high but those temps start to moderate again by Monday.

We got rehearsals today for the big wedding day Sunday at the Diamond Hall at McKinney Flour Mill with dinner following at El Mejor Mexican Kitchen + Cantina and dessert up at the Creamery with friends and family from all over! Come on and enjoy the celebration with us; the boozy ice cream will be flowin’ as will the crafty cocktails too and the atmosphere will be electric, of that I am certain… 😆 The wedding itself tomorrow at 4:00 will be a day to remember always… 🥳 Y’all have an outstanding Saturday while the seasonably warm temperatures last and we’ll hope to see ya downtown tonight for some pre-wedding fun and tomorrow too for a boozy hot chocolate to warm your body and soul… 😊

A lovely day developing for us today, we’ll see lots of sun and a high temp of 62 degrees, dipping down to around 38 overnight. This pretty pattern will be with us right through Saturday night, peaking with a high of 66 on Friday, right on time for live Texas tunes with Russ Lowry Music… 🤠

‘Tis the season in more ways than one y’all. When it’s chilly outside there’s nothin’ like a mug of hot chocolate to warm your insides! We whip up some mighty fine hot chocolate too, that’s cause we use our amazing ice cream ingredients to make it… 😉 Nothin’ against the Swiss Miss but our customers deserve the real deal; oh, and you can turn the warming factor up to 11 by adding a shot or two to that mug! I kinda like peppermint schnapps in mine but Irish cream, Kahlua or your favorite spirit will do the trick too… 😁

Speaking of warming up, it’s warmed up a bit outside here in McKinney in December. We got full sun with a high of 61 today and this fine pattern will be with us through most of the weekend! It’ll be near 70 on Friday when country legend Russ Lowry Music takes our stage… 🤠

It’s gonna be a real nice evening tonight, clear skies and lots of bright stars underneath a waning gibbous moon… 🌖 A lovely night for a boozy hot chocolate that’s for sure; and if not tonight, then tomorrow night when the Kocktails and Karaoke start to flow! Good day everyone, it is way past time for this introduction! Many of you have met her already but please help us welcome Reese Curry formally to the Cocktail Creamery team! Reese is a senior at McKinney High School and a varsity cheerleader with the football team. She plans on heading to OSU next year where studies in construction engineering and interior design will occupy her time. Her whole family is kind of a fixture here in downtown McKinney and is known, respected and appreciated by many of us already; it was Dad who encouraged her to seek employment with us and we’re very glad he did! Her favorite flavor is “The Spiked Melon” sorbet and she manages our “pints to go” section all the while taking excellent care of all y’all… 😊 Reese is remarkably bright, super friendly and an absolute delight to have on our team and we know you’ll come to value her as much as we do!

It’s a sunny but chilly Monday this week; temps are really frosty early and will rise to a high of only 49 degrees. The good news, ain’t no rain or snow in sight and the thermometer will be rising tomorrow! We’ll see highs in the 60’s right through Friday when our good buddy Russ Lowry Music returns to bring the classic country tunes back to the Barlor once again!

It’s back to work for most everyone today after a big fun weekend was had by one and all. Back to work doesn’t have to mean back to the old grindstone though, nope! The thoughtful application of a little booze in the form of ice cream, hot chocolate or a crafty cocktail will work a wonder to turn a mediocre Monday into somethin’ special… 😉 Swing by the Barlor if you’re in our neighborhood and let us whip you up a very tasty sweet boozy treat, and begin your week the Cocktail Creamery way… 😁

How’s about a really fruity Sunday sundae today? Let’s start with a few scoops of our bourbon infused “Killer Vaniller” and drown that in strawberry and pineapple sauce with a drizzle of hot caramel fudge and top that with bourbon vanilla whipped cream and a cherry as always for good luck… 🍒

Sunday scripture: Acts 7:42 KJB… “Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?”

“Then God turned”; serious words. The Hebrew people decided they wanted other gods and God lets their choice stand. He is no longer covenantally obliged to bless them. Due to their worship of other gods (angelic beings), the Most High God causes them to wander the desert for 40 years that the generation might die out before He delivers them into the land of promise. Stephen brings to their attention the words of the prophet, Amos 5:25 above.

Acts 7:43 KJB… “Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.”

This is a very interesting verse as it relates to the modern day Israeli flag. Nowhere in scripture is their King David ever associated with the figure of a star, as their flag purportedly represents. But one of the little “g” gods they do worship, at least in time past, Remphan, is. Not saying that’s who the national flag of Israel stands for but I’ve no Biblical evidence to believe that it relates to David either.

Acts 7:44 KJB… “Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.”

The Hebrew people also had the Ark of the Covenant as witness to Gods power to deliver them from amongst the fallen world, as God instructed Moses in its construction. The Ark provided supernatural power and assisted in driving the ungodly Gentile nations from the land of promise where the temple would eventually be built by David’s son Solomon, as David found great favor with God (Acts 7:46). ... Tish was crafting the cocktails the other night and says this here one tastes just like seasons greetings! It’s a “Pomegranate Gin Spritz” and is made with Fords gin, pomegranate, a dash of lemon and a splash of Topo Chico! Enjoy one or two of these and your season will surely be greeted with holiday cheer… 😉

It’s warmin’ up a bit more today and we will see the sun who’s been missing for far too long now. Our high temperature will reach up to about 57 degrees with an overnight low down around 40. Tomorrow looks identical but we might see freezing temps by early Monday morning. Next Friday looks dang good so far for the classic country sounds of Russ Lowry Music!

The weekend is in full swing downtown and the square is dressed in full holiday regalia! It’s ugly Christmas sweater season for sure and there’s few things as funny as ugly Christmas sweaters… 😆 Well look forward to seeing you in yours when you glide right through our doors to enjoy some extra holiday cheer!
