A 10% chance of showers forecast each day but there’s a big green blob on the radar to our northwest as I write, headed straight for us. Rare is the day we don’t have a shot special of some sort goin’ on and today is no exception! Behold, the White Tea shooter made with sweet peach schnapps, some vodka for good measure and some lemon/lime juice to pack a bit of pucker into the punch! Served up shaken cold over ice these tasty little beauties’ll fix just about anything that ails ya and my oh my, lemme tell ya they sure go down easy… 😁

It might be a rainy morning out there now but I got a feelin’ those skies are gonna clear and that sun is gonna shine before the day is through! Them no-rain vibes are doin’ their thing so let’s keep ‘em flowin’ for Friday cause we got a brand new band comin’ to play; it’s Southern Karma gonna take our stage at 8:00 and it looks like the weather just might cooperate!

I’ll just betcha we got a fine weekend in store for us and that’s always great to see! Thursday night is our “Weekend Eve” and the downtown square usually starts jumpin’ this time of the week! Moderate temps in the upper 70’s today will give way to temps in the upper 80’s tomorrow and those White Tea shots are gonna taste really good the hotter it gets! Get yourself a jump-start on the weekend and join us for one or two tonight and enjoy a bit of shop hoppin’ around the square; we got all sorts of groovy things goin’ on over there! I promise I’m not gonna make any oyster flavored ice cream but I just had to share this masterpiece of deliciousness with y’all! This oyster and shellfish tower came to us by way of our very good friends Steve and Kim Gotberg, owners of Snoopy's Pier Restaurant and boy howdy it was fantastic! Not pictured were the two dozen oysters rockerfeller, ahi tuna tower and redfish pontchartrain as the main course! What a stellar meal and what a fabulous establishment that’s most highly recommended next time you visit Corpus Christi!

Looks like we got us a couple rainy days ahead; better in the middle of the week rather than the weekend I always say! Today and tomorrow look just about the same but keep them no-rain vibes flowin’ for Friday as we got new musical guests to present to ya, it’s Southern Karma gonna take our stage by storm at 8:00!

Y’all are gonna need them umbrellas if you’re headin’ out the door today, we got us a soaker overhead… 🫤 Perhaps we’ll get a break or two in the precipitation that will allow a bit of outdoor adventure and if so, we hope y’all take that opportunity to come see us at the Barlor for some of our newest flavor profile, “Oysters On The Half Cup”; just kidding… 😆 What you just might see soon however is Cocktail Creamery ice cream featured in Corpus Christi at this beautiful establishment! Here’s somethin’ that’s gonna help refresh ya thoroughly on a hot Texas day and it’s so simple, even we can make it great… 😉 It’s a spiked lemonade made with Western Son Distillery lemon vodka and fresh lemonade with a dash of simple syrup optional and garnished with a lemon wheel! Lemme tell ya, a few of these will disappear before you even know what hit ya… 😆

We got a big old storm system to our south that’s most likely gonna leave us alone for today, but tomorrow is another story. Cloudy with highs hovering around 86 degrees this afternoon and when that thermometer starts droppin’ look out for more thunderstorms brewin’… 🫤 The foul weather continues through Thursday and we need the no-rain vibes for Friday night live with our new guests Southern Karma!

What a great weekend it was! Crazy finish weather wise but the Texas Music Revolution was one to remember! Some of us might need a little pick-me-up on this here Monday and we got just the thing to do it; it’s an affogato! What’s an affogato you ask? It’s fresh espresso and (traditionally) vanilla ice cream! You know us however, we’re anything but traditional and you can have your affogato anyway you like it, and here’s a few suggestions… 😁 Killer Vaniller, Mocha Madness, Salted Butter Caramel Crazy or Particularly Pistachio make for delicious affogatos too!

It looks like we got us a nice day today after those storms moved through last night. A mix of sun and clouds with a high of about 85 degrees. We could see a pop-up shower this afternoon but nothin’ crazy. The chances for rain go up as the week progresses and we’re gonna need them no-rain vibes for Friday cause we got some new folks comin’ to play for us, it’s Southern Karma gonna hit our stage for the first time and we’re don’t need any rain spoilin’ our parade!

It’s an affogato kinda Monday today and we’re gotcha covered in more ways than one! Enjoy the nice day outside and while you’re out and about, come see us for a unique coffee treat! Gotchoo a really nutty Sunday sundae today made with our bourbon infused “Butter Bourbon Pecanator” ice cream sittin’ on top of a fresh warm brownie! Sprinkle some extra butter roasted chopped pecans over all that, smother with hot caramel fudge, top with bourbon vanilla whipped cream and a cherry… 🍒

Sunday scripture: Acts 2:38 KJB… “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

We last saw the gathered Jews in Jerusalem hear a charge of murder leveled against them. Many, realizing their mistake ask Peter, “what shall we do?” He delivers the answer: repent of the heinous act and be baptized into the national priesthood God is assembling. This position for the nation has been prophesied by Moses.

Exodus 19:6 KJB… “And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.”

Gods plan for Israel is that they were to be the channel of blessing to all the world (Gen 12:1-3); but conditions were set forth.

Exodus 19:5 KJB… “Now therefore, IF ye will obey my voice indeed, AND keep my covenant, THEN ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:”

That’s a big IF/THEN! National Israel didn’t keep the covenant; they just executed the one who would lead them. There were those who listened to Peter however, as he continues:

Acts 2:40 KJB… “And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.”

To those with ears to hear does he exhort to save themselves from the generation of vipers (Mat 23:33). The earthly kingdom is yet at hand if enough of them realize their error.

Acts 2:41 KJB… “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”

It is to these souls does Peter later write:

1 Peter 2:9 KJB… “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” ... See MoreSee Less

The Texas Music Revolution hosted by our favorite radio station KHYI 95.3 The Range (OFFICIAL) is in full swing here in Historic Downtown McKinney! Never one to miss out on amazing music, we got a real treat for ya this evening, Brad Davis takes the Cocktail Creamery stage tonight at 8:00! Brad is a long time friend of the Barlor and if you ain’t heard him shred a 6-string it’s about time ya did; virtuosity just begins to manifest the man’s musical masteries… 😎

Even though it’s kinda cloudy I’m thinkin’ we’re gonna have us a real nice day today! There’s a slight chance of a spotty passing shower but nothin’ crazy at all; a few raindrops might even feel good as the thermometer reaches 92 degrees this afternoon… 😉 More of the same tomorrow with a 50% chance of rain developing by closing time; the green things might even get a bit of refreshment overnight tonight while us human things are sleepin’!
