Beautiful weather from now till well into next week with lots of sun and highs in the 70’s. Friday’s lookin’ fine for live music, but we have a change of plans. Our good buddy Russ Lowry is steppin’ in where Brad Davis had to step away, thank you Russ! I’ll ask for prayers for Brads wife Rashelle as she required serious emergency surgery yesterday and is now in hospital recovering. These are some of the finest people I’ve ever known and I lift them both up in the all sufficient grace and name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Recover quickly Rashelle!

A cloudy start to our Tuesday today and there were even a few spotty showers in our area early this morning. All those have moved off to our east by now and we should see the sun shining soon with the thermometer rising to a high of around 63 degrees. Our new Valentine’s Day drink menu just released and here’s an example that really makes me smile. It’s called El Diablo (make that make sense for a supposed day of love… 😉) and it’s made with reposado tequila, an amazing crème de cassis, a dash of agave syrup, a squeeze of lime juice and a splash of Ginger beer! Lemme tell ya, I know what I’m gonna be drinkin’ next Friday night… 😆 These things are devilishly delicious!
It’s a lovely Monday out there today with super mild temperatures reaching up to a very comfortable 64 degrees. There’s a slight chance for some spotty showers tomorrow but other than that, the whole first week of February looks absolutely delightful! I call it “Nana’s Banana Puddin’” and it makes a great banana split… with strawberry topping, hot chocolate fudge, chopped pecans, our house bourbon vanilla whipped cream and a cherry as always for good luck… 🍒
Sunday scripture: Acts 8:26 KJB… “And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.”
After encounters in Samaria, Philip is instructed to visit those in Gaza where he meets a man of authority, a eunuch who serves Candace the queen of Ethiopia, come unto Jerusalem to worship. The man was headed home seated in his chariot reading Isaiah the prophet.
Acts 8:29-30 KJB… “Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?”
It turns out that the man was reading from Isaiah 53 and he asked Philip to explain this scripture.
Isaiah 53:7-8 KJB… “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.”
“Of whom does the prophet speak?”, asks the eunuch.
Acts 8:35 KJB… “Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.”
The Messiah is made clear to the man and he believes. What naturally follows? Water baptism for the remission of sin (Acts 2:38)!
Acts 8:36 KJB… “And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?”
Right here all the non-KJB folks ought to look up the next verse in their own Bibles (Acts 8:37) and see what it says. There are myriad reasons why I stand for the KJB, this is but one.
